What the free check uses

BoatVertical processes the hull number, boat name, registration or model you submit to return your search results. Searches appear in the URL and may be retained in browser history and hosting access logs. Do not enter owner names, addresses or other personal information.

Photos stay on your device

HIN photos are processed locally using Tesseract.js. They are not uploaded to BoatVertical or an AI provider. The OCR software and language files may be downloaded from third-party delivery networks, which receive normal connection information such as your IP address.

Hosting and storage

Vercel hosts this website and processes connection and request information to serve and secure it. This release does not create customer accounts, store a search-history database or collect payment details. No marketing analytics or advertising cookies are configured.

If you follow a source link, that provider’s privacy policy applies. Links do not send your search query to the provider automatically.

Version

This notice describes the free public beta released in September 2026. It must be reviewed before introducing accounts, paid reports, email collection or additional tracking.
